Chalk Painting at Newfields

The Color Company partnered with Newfields to create a live chalk art activation for Family Day: Road Trip, a museum-wide celebration inspired by the upcoming America 250 commemoration. Installed in the heart of the museum, the artwork transformed a public gathering space into a creative studio where visitors could observe the artistic process as it unfolded throughout the day.

Drawing inspiration from Newfields’ Horticultural Department and plans for the institution’s future Flower & Vegetable Garden, the piece featured a collection of native Indiana flowers, pollinator-friendly plants, and locally grown produce. The resulting artwork celebrated the natural beauty of the region while connecting visitors to the landscapes that shape Indiana’s identity.
